What Do You Mean There’s A Wait List?

If you follow us on social media, or if you’ve tried to register your camper for Session 3 or 4 in the last week, you’ve probably noticed something we’re pretty excited about. We have 128 camper beds, and for Sessions 3 and 4, we’ve already filled all of them!

For us, it’s an exciting start to our summer, but to parents who still need to get their children or friends registered, it’s not exactly a good thing. We understand your frustration. We want to see your children at camp this summer. To make that dream a reality, we want you to know your options.

Option 1: Wait List

If you weren’t lucky enough to get a for-sure spot in Sessions 3 or 4, we can put you on our wait list. To get your name on the list, simply call Camp Weed or email allison@campweed.org. If for any reason someone drops out (and they well may! Many balances are unpaid), we’ll call you and offer you the spot. We’ll do this on first-come, first-served basis, so try to get on the waiting list as soon as possible. We have just a few people already on each list.

Important Wait List Tip: Please remember that we separate our cabins by gender, so we’ll replace boys with boys and girls with girls.

Option 2: Bump Up or Bump Down

This year, we’ve changed things up. We’re allowing campers to go to their grade-appropriate session or the session right before or after their own. We have several campers taking advantage of this because of scheduling and several more taking advantage of this to come to multiple weeks! Our campers will be grouped according to age, so your child will still have a great camp experience.

If your camper would usually attend Session 3, consider sending him or her to Session 2. Our 9th-grade session has plenty of spots still available, and it comes with an awesome paint party your camper will be talking about for weeks.

If your camper would usually attend Session 4, consider sending him or her to Session 5. This session is two nights shorter, but it’s a little less expensive and still allows your child to have a great camp experience.

Worried about sending your child to a different session than his or her friends? Read our blog about coming to camp without friends! If that doesn’t convince you, talk to your friend group, and see if there are a few others who’d be willing to make the change or come for a second session!

Option 3: Start a Mutiny

This is a bad idea.

Option 4: Don’t Send Your Child To Camp

This is a worse idea than the mutiny. Read about the benefits of summer camp, and you’ll be back at Option 1 or 2, trust us.

Option 5: Pray a Spot Opens Up

This is a good option, but it works best in conjunction with Option 1: Wait List.
